January 13th!

So, if you are a camper or a hunter or a fisherman or a shop owner whose Blower motor is broken and you have a great friend named Randa then you know what this is! A little pocket heater! Had to use this bad boy today since the blower motor in the gas furnace was broken and the shop was between 58 and 60 degrees most of the day. Thankfully Randa came and kept me company and brought chocolate, carmel turtle cake and pocket warmers to make it better!

And then there is this...had to be two pics today! My boy wanted me to read him a story before he went to bed so we laid down to get reading and I pointed to the words and asked if he could read it and sure enough HE COULD! While I was thrilled to death I was also a little sad...my baby is growing up sooooo fast!

January 12th!

And a typical exciting day for me includes a whole lot of this! I love Little Yellow Bicycle!

January 7th!

Once upon a time I had a dream of opening a scrapbook store...not because I wanted to own my own business but because I love paper and glitter and stickers and all things crafty so when I made the leap away from teaching and opened Scrappin' Creations in March of last year I never imagined how successful it would be or that within a years time we would be finding a new and improved location! WOOHOO! A girl with a dream!

January 6th!

Once a week we have choose what you want night. Usually it means we pick something from home or we stop by Publix on the way home and pick out something we want but tonight it meant McDonald's...a big treat for the kids!

January 5th!

Ah, a nice glass of red wine...gotta love it!

January 4th!

When I was about 8 or 9 years old Mom and Dad decided that we would paint ornaments for the Christmas tree that year. They were a white ceramic and I think Mom bought them at a local church bazzar. I can remember working as a family on the painting of these ornaments. When Andy and I left home Mom gave us all of our ornaments that she had collected for us over the years and part of my ornaments included a box of these hand painted ones. I hadn't thought about them in a while and for whatever reason they haven't been on the tree for a few years. A few days ago Mom and I were talking about this Christmas and how hard it had been and she mentioned the ornaments. We talked about making them and how good Dad was that sort of stuff and that surely I had gotten my artsy craftsy talents from him. Well, tonight I was doing major organization of all the ornaments and came across my box of our families handmade Christmas ornaments from long ago. It made me sad and it made me happy and it made me wish for many things.

Happy New Year!

January 1st!

New years day was pretty uneventful to say the least. Most of it was spent running around doing errands and then finally in the afternoon I get to sit down and watch football and play on my laptop.

January 3rd!
Today's highlight was having the kids and Danny's parents over for dinner. Look at this sweet baby Lilli! She is already becoming a little person!
